We moved here to SWFL just after Florida opened up to visitors and during the pandemic. It had been ten years in the making, we visited quite often throughout the year, for ten years, we spoke of it all the time to our family and friends.
Then we made it happen.
Business was slow in Minnesota, depression was high, so we took the leap of faith into a sunnier brighter place. After being cooped up in Minnesota, building our family, relationships, business, our life, we decided to move.
Cape Coral is a city in southwest Florida, known for its many canals. Home to manatees, Sirenia Vista Park has kayak routes to Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve, where birds wade amid mangroves. Cape Coral Historical Society & Museum traces the planning of the ci ty. Yacht Club Communi ty Park has a beach and pier on the Caloosahatchee River. To the north, Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve at tracts herons and ibis.
The Fort Myers Downtown Commercial District is a busy area home to many government buildings, including City Hall with its fountains, and rust colored sculptures by Colombian artist Edgardo Carmona. Streets of fer up performing arts theaters, martini and wine bars, nightclubs, and diverse eateries such as sidewalk cafes and pizzerias. The Franklin Shops have an eclectic array of goods, plus there’s a farmers' market .
Fort Myers Beach is a town on Estero Island, of f the southwest Florida coast . A long, sandy beach faces the Gul f of Mexico. The Ostego Bay Marine Science Center showcases local marine li fe. To the east , trails run through Matanzas Pass Preserve nature sanctuary. Built on an ancient Calusa Indian shell mound, the 1900s Mound House has archaeological exhibits. Times Square shopping center has stores and restaurants.
The city is located on both Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The area referred to as Bonita Beach is located on a road-accessible barrier island (Little Hickory Island) that lies between the Gulf of Mexico and Estero Bay. The Imperial River flows through the downtown district of the city and empties out into Estero Bay.
Sanibel is a city on Sanibel Island in southwest Florida. It ’s known for beaches filled with shells that wash ashore from the Gulf of Mexico. Lighthouse Beach has a fishing pier, the towering, 19th-century Sanibel Lighthouse and a boardwalk winding through marshes. The Causeway Beaches are a water-sports hub and have picnic facilities. J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge covers about half of the island.
Naples is a ci ty on the Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida that’s known for high-end shopping and golf courses. The Naples Pier, first erected in 1888, is the city’s symbol, and is a popular fishing and dolphin-spotting destination. It ’s flanked by miles of beaches with calm waters and fine white “sugar” sand, including those at Clam Pass Park and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park.
Pine Island is the largest island on the Gul f Coast of peninsular Florida in the United States. Located in Lee County, on the Gulf of Mexico coast of southwest Florida, it is also the 118th largest island in the Uni ted States. The Intracoastal Waterway passes through Pine Island Sound, to the west of the island. offers a quiet , laidback atmosphere, plenty of great fishing, and lush natural environment .
We don't know what tomorrow will bring, but the road to life is long and short at the same time. Live your best life.
